Annual Dog Census
Starting approximately August 6, 2018, Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center (OCAC/PAC) team workers will begin going door to door in all Oakland County communities to verify compliance with the Michigan State Dog Law of 1919 that requires all dogs to have a valid dog license. This law was enacted to ensure that all dogs have current rabies vaccinations. OCAC/PAC vigorously enforces the law as part of their pledge to fortify the public safety.
The census workers will be driving marked County vehicles and will be wearing County uniforms with proper identification.
If you have not purchased a dog license and need one, information can be found here.
