Oakland County Dog Census Begins 7/30

Starting approximately July 30, 2021, the 2021 Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center (OCAS/PAC) will begin their annual dog census.  They will be going door to door throughout Oakland County (including Lyon Township) to verify compliance with the Michigan State Dog Law of 1919 that requires all dogs to have a valid dog license.  This law was enacted to ensure that all dogs have current rabies vaccinations.

The census workers will be driving marked County vehicles and will be wearing County shirts with property identification.  They will be in compliance with all CDC and Oakland County Health guidelines.
