Sewer and water billing for Lyon Township is done quarterly.
Effective February 16, 2013, the sewer rate each quarter is $115.78 per REU (residential equivalent unit).
The base rate for water is $62.00 for up to 1,500 cubic feet. Every additional 1,000 cubic foot is billed at a rate of $17.91.
Sewer and water bills are addressed to "Occupant".

Bills not paid by the due date will have an interest penalty of 10% added to the amount due.
Checks should be made payable to the Lyon Township Treasurer. Payment can be mailed or brought to the Township Hall at 58000 Grand River, New Hudson, MI 48165. If you wish to deliver payment while the Township Hall is closed, there is a drop box located at the west entrance to the parking lot in front of the building.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SODIUM & CHLORIDE
The Lyon Township Sewage Treatment Plant has a groundwater discharge permit from the State of Michigan which has very strict limits on sodium and chloride levels.If your home or business is connected to the sanitary sewer, the softener backwash is not allowed to be connected to the sanitary sewer due to the high concentrations.The use of sodium chloride is also prohibited for property owners connected to the sanitary sewer, however, potassium chloride as well as others are allowed.
