The
Township forms committees in response to specific needs.
Some are standing committees such as the Road Committee
and the Park Advisory Committee. If you are willing
to serve on one or more of the committees, please submit
your name to the Township Supervisor. Please review
the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals
pages for other opportunities.

Road Committee
The Road Committee works with organizations
such as the Road Commission of Oakland County to identify
where the Township's most pressing needs are located.
They try to identify and prioritize projects and locate
possible sources of funding. They also make recommendations
regarding road issues such as safety and improvements.
They are not a decision making committee - instead they
make recommendations to the Township Board.
Contact the Lyon Township Supervisor for meeting dates and topics.
Park Committee
In July of 2006 the Lyon Township
Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee was re-established.
Lise Blades is the chair of this committee and questions
or concerns can be addressed to her in care of the township
office. The Park Committee works with the Township Board
to oversee the operations and maintenance of the Township
Park, which is located on Grand River Avenue.
The Township has recently acquired
additional acreage of new park land . The development
of this parkland will be addressed in the updated master
plan.
The committee meets monthly.
Anyone interested is invited to attend. Contact the
township office for dates and times.
