The Oakland County Sheriff Department has a substation located at the Township Offices at 58000 Grand River Avenue, New Hudson.
Police services in Lyon Township are funded by a millage voted by the people of the Township. The Township Board uses these funds to support a contract with the Oakland County Sheriff Department.
Operation Medicine Cabinet (OMC) is a program sponsored by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office to give residents a way to safely dispose of prescription medications no longer needed. As of April 22, 2010, the Oakland County Sheriff Substation in Lyon Township will become a drop-off location. More information on the program can be found here on Oakland County's web site.
