Even though the Lyon Township Municipal Center will be closed, tax payments will still be accepted. Anyone interested in paying their taxes before the end of the year may drop off their payment in the locked drop box located on the circular drive in front of the building. Any tax payments that are in the drop box when we open on Monday, January 4th will be considered paid in 2009.
The last day to pay winter 2009 taxes without penalty is February 14, 2010.
2010 Dog Licenses Now Available
2010 Oakland County dog licenses may be purchased through the Treasurer's Office at the Lyon Township Municipal Center during normal business hours All dogs over the age of four months are required to have a license. You must provide proof of current rabies vaccination. Also be advised that the Township cannot accept credit cards, so please be prepared to pay by check or with cash. You have until June 1st to purchase a license before you are considered delinquent.
Dog License Rates Through June 1st
Spayed or neutered: $7.50
Not spayed or neutered: $15.00
Senior rate - spayed or neutered: $6.75
Senior rate - not spayed or neutered: $13.50
Starting June 2nd, the cost of a dog license is $30.00.
Board of Review Schedule Announced
Property owners will be receiving their assessments in February. Any residents wishing to appeal their assessment need to appear before the Board of Review. Dates and times in March have been announced and are as follows:
Tuesday, March 2nd (9:00a - 12:00p and 1:00p - 5:00p)
Wednesday, March 3rd (4:00p - 9:00p)
Thursday, March 4th (12:00p - 5:00p and 6:00p - 9:00p)
Saturday, March 6th (9:00a - 12:00p and 1:00p - 5:00p)
Monday, March 8th (12:00p - 6:00p)

Kite Festival Returning to Lyon Township
Mark your calendars and think spring! The 2nd Annual Lyon Township Kite Festival will be returning to James F. Atchison Memorial Park (behind the Lyon Township Municipal Center) on Saturday, June 5th, from 11:00a until 5:00p. The festival features kite flying of all types for all ages. Kite kits will be available for children to decorate and assemble, and kites will also be available for purchase. There will be a concession stand and inflatable moonwalks.
